What's new?  A summer road trip to  NC to pick up my mother's Nilus floor loom and supplies, which she has graciously given to me.  I grew up with huge warping mills and looms around me and was curious about weaving, but never tried it until recently.  After we (Rob and I)  brought home all the new toys, my mother came for a long visit to enjoy the Catskills and to  teach me to weave.  It was a wonderful  bonding time. I actually come from a family of weavers who had a business called The Shamrock Shuttle. Specializing in white and textured  woven pillows,   The Shamrock Shuttle  participated in juried shows and exhibited  works in regional galleries, and sold  products through Pillow Finery.  Today, I am enjoying carrying on this family tradition, weaving scarves and pillows that will be for sale at our upcoming shows. Alternatively, if you see something you  like/want feel free to email me.

Benefits of wearing angora:

  • Seven times warmer than wool

  • Creates a beautiful 'halo' over time

  • Very unique appearance

  • One of a kind colors from one of a kind bunnies

The Wooly Hutch is going to move towards having fibers/yarns  for sale in which we KNOW what farm(s) they came from  and how the animals  are TREATED.  We want to reduce our footprint on the world by making purchases more locally.

More information to come....
